I am a qualified counsellor with a BSc in Therapeutic Counselling; I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University. My training and experience comes from an integrative model of therapy, which draws on various techniques from different theories. At the heart of my practice is the importance of a safe therapeutic relationship. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). Being a member of the BACP means that I work to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice, offering the highest professional and ethical standards.
I have been a practicing counsellor for many years, offering counselling to adults, young people and couples with a wide range of concerns. I am committed to offering a confidential, caring and supportive service. Alongside my private practice I have supported various charities gaining specialist training and experience in the areas of sexual abuse and bereavement. I also held a position on the Management Committee at Bradford Bereavement for several years. I hold an Enhanced CRB Disclosure Certificate, and attend regular training courses, maintaining and enhancing my professional development.
I offer confidential independent counselling enabling you to make sense of how you are feeling, which helps to encourage greater self-reliance. I work with people who have concerns which they would like to talk through and understand better, without the complication of being personally involved in their day to day life. I offer a confidential service and I am trained to neither judge nor advise, but to help you gain clarity, by better understanding yourself, other people and what is happening in your life.
